It’s looking like a busy week at the workshop, the VW Beetle has been painted inside & under the wings/bonnet in Guards Red. The body, wings, bonnet & decklid will be painted & lacquered by the end of the week. We also have some new projects lined up…photos coming shortly
The VW Beetle is almost ready for paint. We have primed, flatted & re-primed the car this week, it should be in colour next week all being well!

Its not just the usual 50’s-70’s classics we work on here at NJ Restorations, we look forward to working on any classic car. Look at this lovely Austin 12 we restored a while back…

We say goodbye to the Chevelle, the owner is going to finish re-fitting the interior along with the bumpers, rear lights, etc.
The car has been resprayed in a metallic gunmetal grey & looks fantastic! On preparing the body for paint, we saw this car has previously been burgundy & lime green! The car is now complete & we have a very satisfied customer

Work on the VW Beetle is going well, the bodywork repair is all done. After blasting the body, we did find a couple of ‘previous repairs’ which needed rectifying. Namely the rear clip repair was done incorrectly & without test fitting wings – meaning the wings were 1/2 inch away from the rear valance! Everything has been test fitted & lines up great.

The VW camper we are restoring has now been painted & looks great. Rather than a smooth, modern finish – the owner wanted a mottled/textured finish which is more in character with the original paint finish.

1968 VW Beetle – Full Restoration
We’ve got a 1968 VW Beetle in for full restoration at the moment. The owner brought the car to us after not seeing any progress on the car for 2 years at a local garage. In the 3 months we’ve had the car we’ve painted/stone chipped & completely re-build the floor pan, the body has been blasted & a lot of previous repairs have been rectified/corrected.
Now the Beetle is in bare metal/etch primer and we’re just doing a few final repairs on the body before getting it ready for primer and paint.
The body didn’t look too bad after being blasted (we’ve seen a lot worse!), we’ve repaired some rot around the windscreen aperture & are in the process of fitting a new panel below the fuel tank and working our way around the body to ensure it is 100% solid before sending it to the paint booth.

Rolls Royce Camargue – Project Update
The Rolls Royce Camargue is almost complete, we just need to fit a few finishing touches & give the body a final sand/polish. We knew they were rare cars, but didn’t realise how rare – we’ve been approached by Fifth Gear’s Jonny Smith & James May about wanting to see it once it’s done!
